Rocky Mountain Adventure Series
Castle Mountain
Wellington Lake, Colorado
This event has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control and will return in 2020. We highly recommend the other events in the Adventure Series as alternatives.

6 hour adventure race, limited to 200 entries

A race made for everyone! Run through the forest, bike past peaks on trails, paddle on the lake, and rappel down a rock face in a day that you'll remember forever! Do all 4 events in any order as you collect the checkpoints, it's up to you to decide how to face the challenges. Compete on your own in the solo division, with a friend in the tandem division, or in the teams division with 3 or 4 racers. Racers under 18 are allowed as long as their parent or guardian are on the team with them. The race is US Adventure Racing Association sanctioned so a license for the USARA is required and can be purchased at registration. This is a great starter race and will get your team ready for next year's long course event!

The course won't be revealed until the morning of the race in true adventure racing tradition, but the approximate summary is:

run - 2.5 miles

paddle - .25 miles

bike - 14 miles, expect around 2000 feet of elevation gain

rappel - about 30 feet

The course is spectator friendly! The main transition area is perfect to see some of the run, play or fish at the lake, and is close to the ropes course.

Camping is available for 150 people Friday and Saturday nights, first come first served. Dinner is provided for all racers Saturday evening. Extra dinner tickets are available for a minimal price for spectators. Dinner tickets can be purchased up to 3 days before the event. Sign up for these options on the registration page.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category (solo, tandems, and teams), all entries get race swag.
